CVFF is a Canadian based festival dedicated to the art of vertical filmmaking — showcasing everything from short-form dramas and fast-paced narratives to vertical series and bold cinematic experiments created for the 9:16 era. Our mission is to spotlight innovation in storytelling in all genres and to recognize filmmakers who are reshaping how audiences experience motion and emotion in vertical format.

Screening events will take place exclusively on the beautiful Vancouver Island, with filmmakers and guests gathering in person to experience this new wave of vertical cinema. Submissions are welcome from across Canada, inviting creators from coast to coast to be part of this new creative movement.
